Apr 2012 Learning activity workshops
The serial workshops of
“A smorgasbord of ideas for active learning IV”
“Classroom activities that make learning active” was the fourth workshop under the series “A smorgasbord of ideas for active learning”. It was held successfully on 20 April, 2012. Organizing classroom activities for teaching and learning was the main focus of this workshop. 25 participants joined this workshop.
Strategies shared included the use of student-created videos in teaching and in motivating students to take part in discussions; the use of many methods including clickers and experiments to engage students who come from two quite different disciplines; and the use of old maps as well as other visual images to link up various issues in history and make abstract concepts and past events more ‘touchable’.
Please find below the topics of the presentations, some PPTs for download, and a display of the photos taken.
